Mentoring

My career has benefited from many great mentors. To give back to the astronomy community, I am committed to the mentoring of students in astronomy. I am particularly interested in the development of course-based undergraduate research experiences.

Vertically Integrated Projects

At UT Austin, I am the postdoc lead of the Galaxy Evolution Vertically Integrated Projects (GEVIP) program. GEVIP is characterized by multi-year participation in research projects and a multi-level mentoring structure. In the program, students progress from a starter project that helps with the research of a senior member to a capstone project of individual scientific investigation, which usually results in a AAS Research Notes publication. I help to coordinate the mentoring team, which consists of postdocs and graduate students.
